UPDATE: Adobe Reader 9.0 Lite
  • http://www.msfn.org/board/Release-Adobe-Reader-90-Lite-t88167.html
---

Adobe Reader 8.1.2 Lite
was posted on MSFN by Shark007 who "removed autorun and desktop shortcuts; converted the startmenu shortcut to non-advertised; removed several features and plugins that the average user has no need for. (Lite version); removed Beyond Adobe and Lic. Agreement popup; removed all (auto)update® features."
Foxit Reader 2.3 is a "free PDF document viewer and printer, with incredible small size, breezing-fast launch speed and rich feature set. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7.

In the past, you've had to download a huge PDF reader from another software company, go through a lengthy installation process and wait for an annoying splash window to disappear just to open a PDF document. Moreover, if you want to annotate a PDF document, you have to pay US$299 to buy certain software.

Now with Foxit Reader, you don't have to endure such pain any more."

L-System Explorer

Wikipedia says a L-System or Lindenmayer system is "a parallel rewriting system, namely a variant of a formal grammar (a set of rules and symbols), most famously used to model the growth processes of plant development, but also able to model the morphology of a variety of organisms. L-systems can also be used to generate self-similar fractals such as iterated function systems."

L-System Explorer is "a program that allows you to design or view Lindenmeyer Systems. L-Systems are simple string-based commands that allow various shapes to be drawn. The interest in Artificial Life is that they can create very life-like tree structures from simple commands."
